Can I buy rice at the farm?
Yes! We sell Sho-Chiku-Bai Sweet Rice, Mochiko Blue Star Brand Sweet Rice Flour , in addition to our milling byproducts, such as bran, mixed feed, and cracked rice.

How many crops of rice are grown per year?
Californias climate only allows for the growing and harvesting of one crop per year.

We grind our Mochiko Blue Star Brand Sweet Rice flour from second head Sho-Chiku-Bai Sweet Rice.
Our second head sweet rice is simply pure rice. Nothing has been added.

Does Koda Farms grow Brown Rice?
All rice is inherently Brown Rice due to the thin brown layer of bran beneath their husks. Milling removes this layer of bran revealing the white interior kernel. Koda Farms sells brown rice to order, call for further details.

Who owns the Kokuho Rose trademark?
In continuous use since 1962, Kokuho Rose is the trademark and property of the Koda family business, which alone produces the pure strain of this specific variety. Historically, this rice was grown in very limited quantities. Hence, permission was granted to Nomura and Co., Inc. to utilize this trademark on Nomuras own variety of rice.
